Coercive Properties of Magnetic Garnet Films

Magnetic garnet films represent a wide family of materials. By the proper choice chemical composition and growth parameters, their magnetic behavior can be tuned in very range. On one side, they are suitable for many different applications; on other optimal model materials studying basic magnetization processes. Many assumptions existing theories checked or validated by film investigation. Their production technology was developed decades ago, but even nowadays, have been intensively studied, newer application possibilities found. In this review paper, those results summarized, which connected with coercive properties. Coercivity, force, is frequently used characteristic, usually, it considered rather technical parameter. It shown that there no correlation between so-called “technical force” (which half-width major hysteresis loop) domain wall coercivity (this called pinning field). This latter parameter real characteristic movement. If investigated, moving material defect structure studied. complex feature shown. demonstrated structure, properties walls, existence mechanical stresses, temperature, size sample parameters an influence measured coercivity.
